On the initiative of Lithuanian Innovation Center, Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists and Association "Knowledge Economy Forum" national competition "Innovation Prize 2009" was organized with 74 companies competing for 18 prizes in "Innovative company”, “Innovative product," Innovative Young Entrepreneur” and “Innovation herald" (Nomination for the media) categories. The “Innovative Product 2009” prize was awarded to the company “Elsis TS”, which have created an intelligent house management system.

Intelligent house management system (IHMS), which was awarded the prize for innovation, consists of controller and software, which manages and integrates all house engineering systems: lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water, electricity and gas supply, alarms, video surveillance systems, access control, etc.

The main advantages of the system - innovation, versatility, openness and economically reasonable price, affordable for Lithuanian market. IHMS utilizes a single universal controller that supports a wide range of terminal devices for residential use, from touch screen (LCD) computer, digital TV set, a mobile phone. The proposed system is open, supports all popular protocols and can integrate the various manufacturers offered house engineering systems and devices. It is a tool that will provide not only comfort but also an opportunity to save energy, promptly inform of an emergency. Optimal and cost-effective operation of the heating system will save up to 30 percent of thermal energy. User centralized, one-terminal devices with real-time or according to predefined scenarios will be able to regulate all engineering systems in individual areas.
