This Joint Technological Initiative (JTI) &#8211; part of EU Seventh Framework Program (FP7) for research and technological development over 2007-2013 period. \u201eClean Sky&#8221; program is being initiated aiming to reach EU goals (ACARE 2020 agenda) in the field of aeronautics and air transport &#8211; reduce negative impact on environment and population, specifically, to reduce aircraft fuel consumption and hazardous gas (CO2\/NOX) emission, and reduce perceived noise. This could be reached by developing and implementing advanced technologies in various fields related to aviation &#8211; new composite materials, engines, avionics, flight management systems, etc. The results of \u201eClean Sky&#8221; JTI will be used in new commercial aircrafts entering into the market by 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Key facts about the program: 2008 &#8211; 2017 timeframe, value &#8211; 1,6 billion EUR, participants &#8211; 54 business enterprises, 15 scientific research centers and 17 universities from 16 EU countries. &#8220;Clean Sky&#8221; divided into 6 domains or Integrated Technology Demonstrator (ITD) areas: (1) Green Regional Aircraft, GRA, (2) Green Rotorcraft, GRO, (3) Smart Fixed-Wing Aircraft, SFWA, (4) Eco-design, ECD, (5) Sustainable and Green Engine (SAGE), (6) Systems for Green Operations, SGO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eElsis&#8221; group companies participating in several \u201eClean Sky&#8221; JTI GRA domain projects: (1) Mission &amp; Trajectory Management (MTM); (2) Low Noise Configuration (LNC).
